Ionel Talpazan (1955–2015) was a Romanian-American self-taught visual artist that dedicated his life to creating artwork inspired by a personal, mystical experience of blue light which he attributed to a UFO sighting, when 8 years old. Talpazan’s work is in the permanent collections of the American Museum of Folk Art, the Smithsonian, the Art Brut Collection of Bruno Decharme, and the Minneapolis Institute of Art This particular drawing is highly indicative of the work he was selling on the street when living houseless in New York city in the early 1990's. It includes excellent provenance with a detailed written note from the first art dealer to ever exhibit his work.
