Unusual Pair of CDV photographs of a French Soldier with architectural model (or sculpture?)

Photographed by Théodore Tiffereau who was a daguerreotypist and alchemist. Between 1854 and 1855, Tiffereau presented six papers to the Academy of Sciences concerning the transmutation of silver into gold. In particular he claimed that the money of Mexico possessed specific chemical properties allowing this transmutation.
